International Students
The primary mission of the Ambrose University College International Student Office is to assist International students in a smooth and successful transition to living and studying in Canada.
The International Student Office (ISO) accomplishes its mission through a wide variety of services and programs that are designed with the student and their families in mind.
The ISO realizes that students of other cultures have much to add to Ambrose and therefore seeks to provide opportunities to benefit the entire student body by having the International Students share their “stories” and experiences.
The ISO realizes that there are additional needs for students whose first language is not English. To this end the ISO works to individually help each student achieve to the best of their ability.
In striving to accomplish all of the above the International Student Office works closely and collaboratively with the faculty, Academic Deans, Student Development and outside agencies.
How does this happen?
It happens through organized events and informal gatherings. It happens through personal relationships and in the classroom. It happens through organized seminars hosted by the International Student Office and through one-on-one appointments.
The ISO also works with students and their families in regards to their VISA requirements, applications, etc… The ISO works closely with the Learning Services Centre to help with any academic problems that might arise.
The International Student Office is located in Room 703. Office hours are from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday, with extended hours on Wednesdays when the centre is open until 8:00 pm.
