4th Quarter Comeback Leaves Lions Stunned

4th Quarter Comeback Leaves Lions Stunned

After leading by as many as 27, a huge 36 point 4th quarter for the Kings, propelled them to a 91-88 win over the Lions.

After a great start for the Lions (up by 20 at the half). It looked like the perfect storybook ending to Kyle Swiednicki and Josh Daniel's home careers. Unfortunately for them, Red Deer had another thing planned. Everything clicked for the Kings in the final 10 minutes as they were able to hold the Lions to only 13 while scoring 36 themselves.

Isaac Gray had an unbelievable night for the Lions as he shot 15-20 from the field and 8-12 from 3, good for 40 points. Secondary scoring was a bit of an issue for the Lions down the stretch as no other Lion had more than 12 points and only 2 found double-digits. Leading the way offensively for Red Deer College was Khurram Sultan, scoring 24 points, while shooting 7-9 from 3.

While the Lions have clinched the playoffs, this loss does hurt their chances to solidify their current ranking of 3rd. Next weekend they challenge the 19-1 SAIT Trojans in their season finale.
