Alliance History and Thought
What is the course about?

Alliance History and Thought is a course which surveys the origins of The Christian and Missionary Alliance movement in its social, cultural, and theological context, with emphasis on its historical continuities and changes, and evaluating Alliance "distinctives."
Why do I need to take this?
Although required for Faculty of Theology programs at Ambrose, those within the denominational licensing process must take this course for credit in order to work within the Alliance denomination.

- Current Student of Ambrose:
Current Students of Ambrose may register via the student portal
- Open Studies (Unclassified) or Visiting Student:
- Open Studies (Unclassified) Student:An individual who is not enroled at a degree program at Ambrose University College or Seminary. Those who have not been formally admitted to Ambrose, must register using the: Registration Form for Individual Courses.
NOTE: If taking Alliance History & Thought strictly for licensing purposes with the Christian & Missionary Alliance, you have the choice of taking the course at either the Undergraduate academic level (Course code: REL 362) or the Masters academic level (Course code: CH 610). Bear in mind, the Masters level is more in course work and tuition price. Once the form has been completed, please submit to the Office of the Registrar; methods of doing so are located on the form. Please be advised that the $250 non-refundable tuition deposit is ONLY in effect for the FALL semester (see back page of Registration Form for Individual Courses).
- Visiting Student: A student who is enroled at a degree program at another institution and is attending a course or courses at Ambrose. Those who are a visiting student from another institution, must register using the: Registration Form for Individual Courses.
NOTE: Visiting Students wishing to receive transfer credit for Alliance History & Thought must also submit a Letter of Permission from their home institution.

Course Codes
If taking Alliance History & Thought strictly for licensing purposes with the Christian & Missionary Alliance, you have the choice of taking the course at either the Undergraduate academic level (Course code: REL 362) or the Masters academic level (Course code: CH 610). Prerequisites
Current Students of Ambrose:
Undergraduate: REL 260 Theology I or REL 261 Theology II.
Seminary: CH 501 Christianity in History or TH 501 Introduction to Christian Faith.
Open Studies or Visiting Students:
Students who are not registered in either an Undergraduate or Seminary Ambrose program, but who are in a denominational licensing process, may have the prerequisites for Alliance History and Thought waived and MUST take the course for credit.

Tuition and fees are due in full prior to the beginning of class. If your church is covering the cost of the your class, please contact Daniel Yu at dyu@ambrose.edu and let him know who and where to send the invoice to. It is your responsibility that your tuition and fees are up to date.
