Foundations for Ministry Certificate

Students are required to take five courses in at least three different areas.

- Foundation of Ministry

What are the FMC Courses offered?
Twice a year, a variety of specific Foundations for Ministry (FMC) courses are offered to students. The choice of course offered will depend on each Alliance District and what is being offered that year. Once determined, FMC courses available for registration will be listed on our website by District. You can also contact your local District Office as well.
What is the Foundations certificate?
The FMC is relevant and practical instruction for men and women engaged in ministry across Canada.
Who is the Foundations certificate for?
The FMC is for Church workers and lay individuals involved in ministry.
When and where will the Foundations certificate be offered?
The FMC will be offered twice a year in each of five regions across Canada.
What format is the Foundations certificate?
The FMC will be seminar-style involving 10 hours of instruction, plus 30 hours of addition reading and written work. Unfortunately, there is no option for completing this courses online. Auditing FMC courses is not available as well.
How much will the Foundations certificate cost?
The cost of the FMC will be set by the host church or district.
Full-time Ambrose faculty and select ministry professionals.
Level of Instruction and Transfer
Courses are aimed at adult learners and are assessed on a pass/fail basis. Syllabi are available one month prior to course offering.
Participants who wish to continue their studies at Ambrose, and who are accepted into one of its seminary programs, will be granted one elective credit hour for each Foundations for Ministry course completed, up to a maximum of 6 credits.
In addition to the five areas of study, individuals wishing to be credentialed for ministry in the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada are required to complete the course "Alliance History and Thought" at either the undergraduate or seminary levels.
