How to Register for Courses

Step One: Pay your deposit
In order to register for courses, domestic students must make a $250 non-refundable deposit and international students must make a $1500 non-refundable deposit. The non-refundable Tuition Deposit is credited towards your tuition payment and allows you to register for classes. You can pay the deposit online using any of the methods listed here: Payment Options. You can also send an email transfer to: accounts@ambrose.edu. Please ensure your student ID is entered with your payment.

Step Two: Select your courses
Be sure to refer to your program requirements sheet and list of recommended first year courses. If you are having trouble choosing which courses to enroll in, contact your Faculty Advisor or Admissions Advisor. Your Faculty Advisor is a professor in your program who is available to guide you throughout your time at Ambrose.

Program Requirements: Each program has a number of required courses you’ll need to take in order to complete your degree. To learn more about course requirements please visit the Undergraduate Program Requirements page.

Recommended Courses: Ambrose provides recommendations for courses you should select in your first year. These courses will help keep you on track for your degree. Learn more about recommended courses below:

Full Course List: For a full list of Undergraduate, School of Education, and Seminary courses, please visit the Courses page.

Step Three: Register online
Visit the student portal My.ambrose.edu for online registration, plus email, news, and events.

New Student Registration for Fall 2024 opens May 1, 2024.

Step Four: Pay your tuition and fees
Your education is one of the most important investments you will make. It is important to know that tuition and fees are due on August 31, 2024, and that you have multiple methods available to make your payment.

Step Five: Apply to live in residence
The Residence program is set up to support you during your studies at Ambrose. If you would like to live in Residence you will need to submit an application using the Residence Application Form located on your Student Portal. Space is limited and rooms are granted on a first come, first served basis. Room assignments will be determined in August.

Step Six: Register for orientation
Orientation is highly recommended for domestic students and mandatory for international students. This day will be full of important information, fun activities, free food, and free merchandise! You can find more information and register for orientation using the Orientation Registration Form.

Step Seven: Request a parking pass
If you plan on parking on-campus, you will need to Request a Parking Pass before the beginning of classes. After you have filled out the form, you can pick up your parking pass at Reception on or after the first day of classes.

Step Eight: Set yourself up for success!
As a new student, it can be difficult to get oriented. We have services and resources designed to help our students succeed both academically and mentally. Here are a few highlight resources for new and incoming students:

Helpful Tips about Registration

Follow these helpful tips to make your registration process go smoothly.

  • Register early because courses fill up quickly.
  • Be aware of minimum credit requirements for student loans and scholarships.
  • Don’t overload yourself. The maximum recommended course load each semester is 15 credit hours or 5 courses.
  • Don’t forget to review the first year recommended courses. These will set you up to meet pre-requisites for senior-level courses in future semesters. For example, in order to enroll in Children's Literature (EN 240) you will need to have completed Introduction to Literature and Language (EN 115)
  • Check out the Academic Calendar. It provides detailed course descriptions and lists pre-requisites, as well as other important academic information.

Student Registration System Tips
Shortly after paying your tuition deposit, you should receive an email about your login credentials from IT. Log in by entering your username and password. If you did not receive an email, please contact your Admissions Advisor.

Email Tips
You will receive all official Ambrose communication through your Ambrose email. It is your responsibility to regularly check your Ambrose email for important information from the Office of the Registrar, Student Development, Finance and your professors.
