My name is Jacinta Suma and I am a fourth-year Biology student at Ambrose with a minor in Kinesiology. I am from Edmonton, Alberta and the reason why I chose Ambrose was because I believe that God led me here. Ambrose was not my first choice of university (this is very normal for high school students) but due to circumstances that came up during my year off, God was like “Jacinta, just trust in me and believe that I got you!” So He led me to this amazing university and I have never been more grateful to Him. After University, I am planning on becoming a Pediatric or a Neonatal Nurse which I am very excited for and I will hopefully work for Doctors without Borders!
Hello! My name is McKenzie Baker. I am in my third and final year of my Bachelor of Arts in Behavioural Science degree! I am originally from Red Deer Alberta, home to one of the best coffee shops around! I have a passion for people and for community life which is has made Ambrose the perfect fit for my post-secondary education. When I graduate, I plan to pursue a degree in education and enter the classroom to teach students about our world and what is going on within it.
My name is Mo Hickman and I am a small town Nova Scotia girl living in the big city of Calgary. I am in my 3rd year at Ambrose and am taking a Bachelor of Theology in Church Ministry with minors in Music and Theatre. Ambrose was the first (and only) choice for this third-generation Nazarene to prepare for vocational ministry! After graduating, I want to serve as a Worship and Creative Arts Pastor or I might start a mobile customized cupcake shop called ‘Cupcake Town’. Or maybe I will do both.
My name is Thando and I am a 4th-year Behavioural Science with two business minors. I was originally born in South Africa, have moved across Canada, but am currently calling Calgary home. I chose Ambrose because I was interested in having a university that would be centered on caring for me, holistically. So far, Ambrose has done exactly that! I’ve grown in so many ways and have been fully supported by my professors. Not only have my professors supported me, they’ve also challenged me to see my education as a time to gain knowledge and value the impact my education will have on my future.
Hello, my name is Kaitlin and I am a third-year student in the Behavioral Science program. Born and raised in Calgary I chose to come to Ambrose because of the close proximity to my family and the faith integration that Ambrose offers. From the first time I stepped on campus I knew this school was where I belonged and have loved every minute since. I have lived in residence for all three of my years at Ambrose and this year I am in charge of planning social events for my floor. My favorite thing about Ambrose is how much the professors invest and care about each student. Coming to Ambrose has been one of the best decisions I have made!
