Paul Armbruster joined the Lions Pride in 2015 and is looking forward to being a part of the Ambrose family. Armbruster grew up in Three Hills, AB, and played many sports. He found greatest success with volleyball: after playing five years of post-secondary, he had the privilege of playing professionally in Norway for a year, winning a National Championship.
“The combination of competition and discipleship is something that I really enjoy,” says Armbruster, and that's what drew him to coaching. He's been instructing and directing camps and clinics for over 20 years, was head coach at both Prairie Bible College and Lakeland College, and assistant coach at the University of Calgary and most recently Briercrest College (where he was completing a MA in Leadership and Management). Coach Armbruster also had the chance to coach for 5 summers with Team Alberta, winning a NTCC Gold and Canada Summer Games Gold. He was also an assistant coach with the Canadian Men’s Junior National Team that competed at NORCECA and World Championships.
Ambrose is thrilled to benefit from Armbruster's wealth of experience combined with his passion for growth on and off the court. Armbruster's vision for the program is "Build Christ-like character, build family, build championships.”
