Ambrose 101

At Ambrose, we know that starting university can be a difficult transition. Our students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and they aren’t all prepared in the same ways for this new academic challenge.

The traditional university attitude of "sink or swim" doesn’t fit with our outlook---we’re about community, so we want to come alongside and help you develop the skills you need to thrive in our academic environment.

The  Ambrose 101 program is designed to ensure you succeed and have a great time in the first year of your studies. This program of weekly seminars for first-year students runs throughout the fall semester, giving you regular chances to ask questions and learn about all sorts of things related to Ambrose and university life.

The Ambrose 101 program includes the following:

  • Skill development
  • Individualized time management program
  • Access to study groups
  • Personalized study behaviour inventory
  • Mid-semester check-up
  • One-to-one student advising for those identified as higher risk
