Classes suspended Monday, March 16 to Wednesday, March 18

Students, faculty, and staff

Ambrose University will suspend classes beginning Monday, March 16 to Wednesday, March 18 for faculty and staff to arrange for alternative delivery of the remainder of the semester and final examinations.  This decision was made following significant consultation with Alberta Health and post-secondary institutions in the province. This is a precautionary measure and is intended to give us time to enhance the safety of our community.

The university will remain open. Residences will also remain open.  Services will be available, although some may be more limited.

It is important to note that Alberta Health continues to advise that the risk to our community is low.

Students will be supported through this change and will not lose credits or the ability to graduate.  For those students who are unable to connect with us remotely, we will designate areas to use within the university in a manner keeping with Alberta Health recommendations.  Further information will be available on Wednesday, at noon about the remainder of the semester.

Effective immediately Chapel and Word and Table will be suspended. A statement about April’s graduation activities will be forthcoming in the next two weeks.

Thank you to our academic and staff teams who are supporting our students and each other through this situation – this is unprecedented for all of us.

We must continue to protect the safety of our community by being diligent about personal hygiene practices and following Alberta Health protocols of hand washing and social distancing.

You are permitted to come to campus, if you need to access campus services.  You will be asked to be mindful of frequent hand washing and social distancing.  However, if you do not feel well, do not come to campus – stay home and take care of yourself.

If you have been tested positive for COVID-19 or are on self-isolation, please let us know.  Students should contact Monique Verhoef at  Faculty and staff should contact Albert Elliott at

This is a rapidly evolving situation and we will continue to communicate regularly with our community and notify you of changes through e-mail and our website.
