October 28 Update

There has been a positive COVID case identified on campus, in our athletic community.

Notifications have gone out to all individuals who have had direct contact with the student and need to self-isolate. If you did not receive one of those notifications, you do not need to self-isolate at this time.

We ask that you continue to remain vigilant with washing your hands, wearing a mask, and maintaining two metres of distance when possible.

If you begin to experience any COVID-related symptoms, you need to contact Student Life and should schedule a test through Alberta Health Services.

Since learning about the confirmed COVID case on our campus, Ambrose is informing all affected individuals and is working on a deep clean of all affected areas.

Students should contact Student Life if they have questions or concerns. Staff and faculty should contact Human Resources.

Students in self-isolation need to connect with their professors on how to continue with their course work.

We understand that this unsettling news. It is perfectly normal to want to talk about it and to seek help.

Case Reporting

The University will continue to provide updates on this webpage regarding COVID-19 cases on campus. These data will help inform our decision-making related to campus operations, in consultation with the local public health officials.

The University will not communicate broadly about individual positive cases, consistent with the privacy of personal information as laid out by PIPA and FOIPP. Individuals who meet Alberta’s definition of close contact of a person who tests positive for COVID-19 or has other potential exposure risks will be notified through Alberta Health Services contact tracing procedures. The University will determine the release of non-identifying communications about positive results based on approved guidelines.
