What is Needed in a Club Constitution? 

ARTICLE1: NAME

The name of the organization shall be ________________________________.

ARTICLE 2: MISSION

This section is about what the club exists for the purpose of the clubs formation and meeting.

ARTICLE 3: MEMBERSHIP

This section outlines who can be part of the club. It is what the committee will look at when it consults who can be a member. There are two mandatory clauses for this section. Two members need to be official contacts and leaders in the club. There also needs to be a faculty or staff who is a sponsor of the club.

ARTICLE 4: AMBROSE UNIVERSITY

This section of the constitution outlines that the club recognizes the policies and standards of Ambrose University and that failure to comply with the policies and standards will result in the termination of the club.

ARTICLE 5: OFFICE AND DUTIES

This section is for the executive members of the club. It outlines the requirements for each executive member.  Attendance at all meetings · Adherence to the clubs constitution and utilize it for reference in operational decisions.

ARTICLE 6: MEETINGS

This outlines the club meetings. When do people meet, how long and what occurs during the meetings.

ARTICLE 7: AMENDMENTS

This section is about how amendments are changed. Example: An alternation in the amendments has to be done by a 2/3rd majority to be changed. A copy of the amendment change must be submitted to AVP Student Life for review. There is a two week period before the change will become official.

Create a file in MS Word or PDF format and upload as a part of your application to start a club.
