FILMS FOR FAITH, 2017-18

What is it that makes a film FOR faith? Does it need to be explicitly about God, Jesus, the Church, or Christians for it to be FOR faith? Must we compel ourselves to watch things like The Shack or God’s Not Dead or (please no) Left Behind if we want our faith to be strengthened in the watching? The answer suggested by Ambrose’s FILMS FOR FAITH series is a resounding NO. Any film that invites us to THINK, to consider ourselves, our natures, our value, our responsibilities, our place in the world, is a film FOR faith.

This year, we’ve chosen six films that do just this, that invite us to THINK. These are The Matrix (Sep. 13), The Merchant of Venice (Oct. 11), Elder in the Making (Nov. 16), Gattaca (Jan. 10), Noah (Feb. 7), and Toy Story 3 (Mar. 14). Each film will be briefly introduced by an Ambrose faculty or staff member and followed by a fun and informal discussion. Join us!
