Summary

An interdisciplinary art and dance camp where students will grow in art or dance technique while exploring character and diversity inspired by Aesop's timesless tales!

Highlights

Observe and draw real animals in a mid-week zoo trip!

Create your own animal mask!

Work with a composer and choreographer to create an original dance performance!

Description

From the proud lion to the humble mouse, Aesop’s Fables are as relevant today as they were over 2,000 years ago. Students ages 4-12 will have a lot of fun exploring the rich variety of animals in these timeless tales—from their character strengths and weaknesses to their inherent shapes, textures, and movements. Students will choose a focus—dance or art—and spend 75% of their day working in their chosen discipline. Everyone will enjoy coming together for meals, games, and creating original animal masks for the showcase. Students will also love observing real animals in their habitat in a mid-week zoo trip! The week will culminate in a dance performance and art display of the students’ creative interpretations of Aesop’s Fables!
