Lethbridge outlasts Ambrose

While the Ambrose Lions, moved the ball well on offense, enough shots didn’t fall for them to be able to upset the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.

Another injury to a key player, this time, Munroe Brothers, dampened spirits going into tonight’s, however, a the team welcomed Latisha Chiwele and Eisley Tan to their roster after both Red Shirting for the first semester.

Chiwele played well scoring 4 points, 4 rebounds along with 3 assists and 2 steals. Kristian Bajovic led the Lions in scoring with 13, while Nya Gach collected 10 rebounds and was rewarded Player of the Game for her effort. 

Throughout the game, the Kodiaks, stayed calm, taking care of business on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.   Slowly the increased their lead from 6 after the 1st quarter, to 12 at half and ultimately 25 at the end of game.

Kirsten Barwegen (Lethbridge – Player of the Game) recorded a double-double after picking up 17 rebounds and 17 points.  Barwegen played extremely strong in the paint and came up clutch when they needed her.

Ambrose will get a second chance against the Kodiaks as these two teams will rematch against each other tomorrow night in Lethbridge.
