As of 4:30pm Friday, March 27, the Ambrose Library will follow the lead of many other libraries in the province by transitioning to online/remote services only. For Ambrose students, staff and faculty, we will continue to offer research assistance by phone, email (and online chat soon!), as well as fulfilling scanning and digital ILL requests. The building will be restricted to library staff only until further notice. All loans have been renewed until May 31, please do not return any books until we reopen.
The Ambrose Library serves the students, faculty and staff of Ambrose University. It is one of the largest private academic libraries in western Canada. Its rapidly growing collection features more than 130,000 bound volumes and 350,000 e-books. Particular strengths include Christian studies, history, music, behavioural science, business, English, and Islamics. More information on the library's collections and services can be found in the annual reports.
The library also seeks to serve the local congregations of the Church of the Nazarene in Canada and Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada (CMAC), as well as the broader Calgary community.
The Ambrose Archives, which is administered by the library, serves as the official repository for the institutional records of Ambrose University, and its predecessors. The Archives also serves as the official archives of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada and the Church of the Nazarene Canada.
