Lion's win Last Home Game of the Season

Lion's win Last Home Game of the Season

The Lion's Den was packed for the last home game of the season against the visiting Olds College Broncos.  After a full evening of competition, the Lions won the match 3 sets to 2 with scores of 25-18, 26-28, 25-14, 22-25, 15-9.  The Broncos played scrappy defense throughout the night. This was key especially in the second set where their digs were almost double that of any other set and they squeezed out a narrow win (28-26).  Subsequently it also assisted Broncos #13 Tabitha Martin in accumulating 17 kills throughout the match.  Julia Kemper also led her team in kills with 17 as well.   Setter Sarah Janz spread the Lion's offense, utilizing each of her hitters to search for weakness in the Broncos defense.  Both teams made a number of substitutions throughout the match in pursuit of that perfect combination of players and momenteum.

Graduating Lions Julia Kemper and MacKenzie Schmidt were recognized in a post-game ceremony for their dedication to the program and their time at Ambrose.  Julia Kemper was awarded player of the game for the Lions and Tabitha Martin was awarded it for the Broncos.  For the Olds College Broncos it was their last game of the season but the Ambrose Lions will go on to play in ACAC playoffs next weekend.
