Preaching Science: How to Write Sermons based on Creation Texts (like DNA repair mechanisms, vaccines, river hydrology, neurons, knees and the plant science of trees). This hands-on workshop will give you the theological and homiletic tools for unpacking and preaching God’s revelation through creation (alongside and through the scriptures of course!). Over the past decade John Van Sloten has been awarded several John Templeton Foundation subgrants to explore the intersection of faith and science in the context of preaching. His newest book, God Speaks Science: Learning How to Engage God’s Empirical Presence, will be published next year. Workshop space is limited, so register early.
