John Picard, BA, MEd
A career educator with twenty-three years’ experience in school and system administration, John has worked extensively in guiding teacher growth and development and mentoring younger administrators. He has facilitated numerous professional development seminars and conferences, notably in the areas of balanced curriculum, strategic and critical thinking, servant leadership and charter schools. Prior to developing and delivering curriculum for twelve years as a high school teacher, John worked as a counselor for young offenders in a variety of settings. In addition to his current work as a sessional instructor and university consultant with the education program at Ambrose, he serves as the part-time Superintendent of Alberta’s only rural charter school, and is a Designated Signing Authority with the Alberta Independent School and Colleges Association.
