I am an educator invested in preparing pre-service teachers to be transformative and creative leaders in their future learning communities. I believe I can facilitate that by understanding the realities of the classrooms and learners with whom we partner, and by being actively involved in committees and research.
Since joining the Ambrose Education program in 2010, I have continued to foster relationships with teachers in the field, and colleagues in other teacher preparation institutions. These relationships helped inform my current area of research, which seeks to contribute to our understanding of the needs and experiences of partner teachers. I am fortunate to have a collaborative research and writing group with similar areas of interests, and prior experience as a teacher and partner teacher working with students with exceptionalities in public schools.
In my classroom, you will find me leading discussions, modelling current practices in education and advocating for students with exceptionalities, and using case studies and observations from my school visits to make our learning relevant and meaningful. You will also find me in schools in and around the Calgary area, being inspired by innovative and invested students and teachers.
I am fortunate to be supported in my work at Ambrose and through my EdD by my husband Mike, and our 2 daughters.
