Residence Life 2021-2022 COVID-19 Notice
Single Room Only
As so much remains unknown in terms of health measures for next year, we will once again be providing single rooms for the 2021-2022 academic year. This provides students with their personal space and a shared bathroom with one other student.
We will be continuing the same meal plan for students that is currently in effect from this past academic year. The meal plan will provide each resident student with breakfast, lunch and supper options. We anticipate that, while there may be some capacity restrictions in the Calf eating area due to health restrictions, the eating area will be open and we will be able to move toward increased capacity as the year continues. We are grateful to the food services department and their hard work as they provide these services with our community’s safety in mind.
The cost for living on campus remains unchanged for next academic year. The University has decided keep the same all-inclusive fee for the 2021-2022 academic year. This fee covers your room costs, meal plan, flex dollars, laundry and Wi-Fi. The residence fee remains $3,950 per semester.
Residence Life Community Standards 2021-2022
The Residence Life Community Standards for next year will be hopefully adapting when restrictions ease or cease from AHS. However, without knowing how things will look next year we have kept the same standards in place and hope to adapt them as the summer and fall unfolds. The updated Residence Life Community Standards can be found on the Residence Life webpage and online application.
We have a year of experience on how to respond if a case of COVID-19 arises in our residence pods and we will continue to enact protocol procedures to keep students safe and limit the spread of COVID-19 if it occurs. Students are responsible to foster a safe residence environment by following the Residence Life Community Standards, AHS and provincial guidelines. There may continue to be the need, if there is confirmed contact with someone with COVID-19 or an outbreak, to isolate students and rooms will be set aside for this purpose. We have plans to care for each student affected.
Residence Refund Policy
We are committed to keeping residence open and caring for students as they study at Ambrose University. Living in residence will be a full semester commitment, much like a lease agreement. We will not be offering refunds if a student decides to leave early.
It is important to apply as soon as you can because we have limited rooms available as we cannot house as many students as usual. We process applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Please keep in mind that first-year students will have priority to guarantee a spot per the residence requirement.
We are committed to creating an excellent community as we have in the past. The year ahead will once again be unique but community and connection is important for first-year students and an important feature of the Ambrose experience. We are here for you and are available for any questions you may have.
