Ambrose Writing Centre

Think. Talk. Write.

The Ambrose Writing Centre is here to help you become a better writer. It’s a place where you can talk about your ideas, get advice and feedback on your work, and learn more about how to write for a variety of academic disciplines.

One-on-One Consultations

You can either drop by during open hours or schedule an appointment with a tutor and get a 30 - 60 minute consultation.

  • Develop your writing skills in an area of your choice, from using an apostrophe to writing a thesis. Tutors can provide practice exercises or recommend resources.
  • Brainstorm by talking through an assignment with a tutor, even before you get words down on the page. This can help you understand your assignment and get ideas for how you want to complete it. Bring along any information your instructor has given you about the assignment.
  • Review an assignment you’re working on. Bring an outline or draft of the assignment, as well as any information your instructor has given you about the assignment. You can review and discuss the assignment and your work so far with a tutor.

Group Workshops

You can also join us for one of our group workshops. Topics may include essay structure, research strategies, tips for speakers of English as another language, and more.

All Ambrose students are welcome to benefit from the services of the Ambrose Writing Centre. For inquiries, contact writingcentre@ambrose.edu.
