Ambrose University is pleased to announce a newly formed partnership with Mount Royal University (MRU) for the purpose of providing English Language instruction to prospective students.

MRU’s Language Education for Academic Purposes (LEAP) Program provides students with high-quality English language instruction specific to the language proficiency standards of academia. Available in four levels, the program will provide students the opportunity to meet with TESL certified instructors who will support them in a smooth transition from language classes to credit studies in the program of their choosing.

"Mount Royal values the importance of strategic partnerships that create high-impact learning opportunities for students. This partnership with Ambrose University, which allows their international students to enrol in our innovative Language Education for Academic Purposes (LEAP) program, does just that. By working together, we’re adding value to the undergraduate experience and diversifying pathways for international students to successfully meet the English language requirements and pursue their post-secondary goals."

- Dianne MacDonald, Director, International Education

Since many of the program offerings at Ambrose are of interest to international students, the LEAP Program is especially important to help facilitate students’ language development and ultimately ensure that the coursework is completed successfully, as Ambrose does not currently offer its own English proficiency instruction.

"The partnership between Mount Royal University’s Language Education for Academic Purposes (LEAP) and Ambrose University is a win for international students. MRU has an impressive history of equipping international students for success in post-secondary studies. Students applying to Ambrose will now have direct access to the LEAP program so they can develop their language skills prior to beginning their studies in degree programs. We celebrate this new pathway for students who want to study in Alberta and value the collaborative engagement with MRU."

- Pam Nordstrom, Provost and Vice President, Academic

In order to meet Ambrose’s English proficiency requirements, all requirements for the LEAP Program must be met prior to admission.
