Ambrose Arts proudly congratulates Joel Warren and Anna Konrad, this year’s outstanding winners of the Edwin Gnandt Concerto Competition!

Named in honour of its founder, Edwin Gnandt—a beloved professor of music and piano at Ambrose University from 2008 to 2021—this competition is a testament to the excellence and dedication of Ambrose music students.

Unforgettable Performances

Over the weekend, Joel and Anna captivated audiences at Calgary First Church of the Nazarene with breathtaking solo performances:

  • Joel Warren (Trumpet): A stunning performance of Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat, showcasing technical brilliance and expressive depth.
  • Anna Konrad (Violin): A moving interpretation of Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, bringing emotion and artistry to every note.

Congratulations again to Joel and Anna! We look forward to seeing where their musical journey takes them next!
