Joseph Roso

Joseph Roso is a sociologist whose research focuses on the practices and political activities of religious congregations and leaders. In his work, Joseph has studied how congregations are adapting to the challenges of the 21st century, including how they used technology to maintain religious communities during the COVID-19 pandemic and how they respond to climates of increasing political polarization. Originally from the United States, he completed his BA at Vanderbilt University and his MA and PhD from Duke University – all in sociology. He has extensive experience teaching social science research methods, particularly quantitative methods, and loves working with students to develop their own original research projects.

In his free time, Joseph enjoys watching baseball, playing board games, and reading science fiction novels.
