Ambrose University Alum Paul Harvey to Pitch Mobile Escape on Dragon’s Den

Ambrose University alum Paul Harvey, a 2014 Business Administration graduate, is set to pitch his company, Mobile Escape, on Dragon’s Den, airing on November 7, 2024. Alongside his co-founder and brother-in-law, Eric, Harvey brings a unique spin to the escape room industry, making it mobile and accessible, especially for children who struggle in traditional learning environments—a group Harvey identifies with personally.

Reflecting on his journey, Harvey credits the Ambrose business program for igniting his passion for social entrepreneurship. “The emphasis on purpose-driven business influenced my decision to start Mobile Escape,” he shares. “Through Ambrose, I learned that business could be a force for positive change, which inspired me to create something meaningful.”

Mentorship at Ambrose played a major role in Harvey’s path to entrepreneurship, especially through Professor Randy Poon. “Randy’s commitment to integrity and social impact made a lasting impact on me,” Harvey recalls. “He challenged me to think critically and lead with purpose, and his mentorship continues to guide me today.”

Harvey’s experience as a student-athlete also shaped his approach to leadership. “Playing sports taught me that leadership isn’t just about taking the lead—it’s about knowing when to support others,” he explains. “Those skills are essential in both sports and business, and they’ve helped me build a team that trusts and supports each other.”

Preparing to face the Dragons, Harvey stayed true to the values he learned at Ambrose. “We knew they would focus heavily on profit, but our mission matters more than just meeting a bottom line,” he says. “Ambrose taught me that honesty and integrity are essential, so we’re bringing that mindset into our pitch.”

With Dragon’s Den airing soon, Harvey’s journey is set to inspire Ambrose students and alumni. “For those thinking about entrepreneurship, find a mission that excites you, stay grounded in your values, and let that drive you forward,” he advises. “Success will follow when you’re true to your purpose.”

As Harvey steps onto the Dragon’s Den stage, Ambrose University proudly celebrates his impact, reflecting the values of integrity, leadership, and purpose-driven success.
