Kristian is interested in studying the beneficial lipids and metabolites in different plants using a combination of biochemical and analytical chemistry tools. Previously, he was a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary. Before coming to Calgary, he worked as an Associate Scientist II at Intertek Illinois, a leading analytical food laboratory in the US, and as a postdoctoral researcher at Purdue University. He obtained his PhD in Plant Biochemistry from the University of Alberta where he was an Alberta Innovates Future Technologies Graduate Scholar. He and his wife, Jeella, a chemical biologist, enjoy exploring God’s wonderful creation from a macroscopic and molecular perspective.
