Part-Time Seminary Admissions Advisor
This position will primarily focus on Calgary and area churches (200km radius) for in-person recruitment and working with students across Canada and internationally for virtual recruitment. Achieve enrolment goals (inquiries, applicants, admitted, and enrolled students) with a primary focus in seminary enrolment. This position is 0.5FTE.
- Advise prospective students on seminary, including promoting Ambrose (admissions, financial aid, and program information)
- Responsible for personal communication with Seminary applicants and inquiries
- Initiate contact with prospective students, identify barriers to enrolment and present solutions
- Responsible for increasing the conversion of seminary inquiries to applicants to students
- Organize and host seminary and internal recruitment & admissions events (e.g. Seminary Information Sessions), focused on online strategies that work for adult learners such as webinars and podcasts
- Implement effective Seminary communications and recruitment strategies
- Liaise with other departments as it pertains to Seminary admissions (e.g. Theological Studies in Chinese)
- Coordinate all seminary recruitment exhibitor bookings and logistics to ensure suitable booth space is reserved in a timely manner
- As a member of the recruitment and admissions team, all team members are expected to provide assistance to other team members and be willing to work on projects outside of their assigned position description
Education and Experience
- Seminary degree preferably from Ambrose and related experience particularly in customer service
- Experience in pastoral setting and customer service an asset
- Understanding of Student Information Systems
Skills
- Ability to quickly learn and maintain substantial knowledge regarding seminary programs
- Balance administrative responsibilities with personal customer service
- Liaise with faculty and current Seminary students building a culture of trust
- Strong information technology (e.g. Microsoft Office, Student Information Systems, CRMs) and administrative skills
- Ability to create and deliver presentations as required adjusting to audience
- Ability to manage miscellaneous projects (e.g. travel schedules, assisting with planning events)
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize within tight deadlines
