Compensation
12% stipend of the Student Association fee for the academic year. Paid half of the stipend at the end of each semester.
Position Summary

As part of the Seminary Student Leadership Team, the Seminary Student President is crucial in establishing a community environment within the Seminary Community that is conducive to spiritual and social development, primarily through a leadership role to the SSLT & through the management of the Seminary Commons.

The President is to be a student who displays an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus and has a desire to support holistic growth in the lives of others. The student leader plays a vital role in leading and supervising the SSLT as they seek to engage Seminary students. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The leader must commit to this position for the full academic year (end of August-April)

  • Lead the SSLT and supervise the Seminary Student Life program.
  • Meet with the Director of Community Life bi-weekly for supervision and collaboration.
  • Lead weekly SSLT meetings and send out the agenda to the team beforehand.
  • Oversee and delegate the planning and implementation of Seminary events.
  • Liaison for the Seminary Faculty and attend the four General Faculty Council meetings (GFC).
  • Collaborate with the Wellness Coordinator to promote mental health resources for Seminary students.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment within the Seminary Commons.
  • Meet with individual SSLT’s for support & encouragement as needed.
  • Attend and assist with the Fall and Winter Seminary Orientation events and Seminary Retreats.
  • Attend SSLT events and activities (Word and Table, Pathways, etc.).
  • Be a campus resource; aware of campus programs and services, providing referrals as needed.
  • To act as a liaison between students and Student Life regarding needs, problems & concerns.
  • Attend the Fall and Winter Student Leadership Retreat and be available for on campus training and preparation.

Duties and responsibilities performed within one's capabilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.

Reports to: Director of Community Life

Supervision given: Seminary Student Leaders (SSLT)

Job Standards and Requirements

Be a mature, responsible student, who is respected within the Ambrose community.

Current Ambrose Seminary student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours to a maximum of 15 per semester.
