Social Media Ambassadors will assist in building and maintaining the online presence of Ambrose. Serving as an online representative of Ambrose, its services, programs and activities, the social media ambassadors are primarily responsible for increasing awareness of Ambrose and influencing prospective students to enrol at Ambrose.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create engaging vertical video content for TikTok and Instagram, adhering to a posting schedule of at least one post every two weeks and a maximum of one post per week.
  • Independently pitch content ideas to the Manager, Audio Visual Services.
  • Shoot and edit content using platforms like Filmic Pro, TikTok, Instagram, Capcut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Export and deliver two versions of content: one with music and text, one without.
  • Post approved content on personal social media, tagging @ambrose_university as a collaborator and using the Paid Partnership tag.
  • Allow for content to be shared on Ambrose University channels, including within a paid advertising campaign.
  • Stay up to date on TikTok and Instagram trends including best practices around hooks, CTAs, and trends.
  • Keep a pulse on campus activities and opportunities for social media.
  • Uphold brand guidelines and be an ambassador for Ambrose University.

Video Brief Requirements

  • One 9x16 video every two weeks of length 30-60 seconds unless otherwise approved.
  • Shoot in 4K or 1080p minimum.
  • Provide two copies of the final video: one without and one with music, text, and effects.
  • Tag @ambrose_university, add as a collaborator and Paid Partner.
  • Include #ambroseuniversity and related Calgary hashtags in captions.
Reporting Relationships

Reports To: Manager, Audio Visual Services

Job Standards and Requirements



  • Current student at Ambrose and passionate about the Ambrose student experience.
  • Maintain on one or more personal social media platforms with an active following.
  • Maintain professional behaviour and language while posting about Ambrose.
  • Experience with various social media channels including, but not limited to, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Experience and familiarity with Ambrose campus life and knowledge of Ambrose student life and activities
  • Experience with shooting and editing video content for social media.
  • Have a strong work ethic (dependable, organized, team player, willingness to learn) with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Be in agreement with the Ambrose mission and in good academic and community standards standing.

Prior to the commencement of the contract, each candidate must attend a mandatory training session.
