Position Summary

The Director of Spiritual Life is highly involved in the spiritual formation and spiritual development of the Ambrose Community. They are accountable to the Executive team and the Campus Chaplain to promote vibrant, thoughtful, historically-grounded, and forward thinking spiritual life programming. They will be aware of the spiritual needs of the Ambrose student body and find ways to challenge students to grow deeper in their faith journey with Christ. They must then apply these considerations to the implementation of Firehouse worship nights that occur monthly and are student led.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes monthly (or bimonthly) Firehouse Worship Nights.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion to connect expressions of justice with spiritual life expressions (i.e., strategically mobilizing students to serve in external organizations and to participate in events).
  • Oversee the planning of the Student Council chapel in the Fall semester.
  • Meet regularly with the Campus Chaplain and serve on spiritual life committees/direction-setting groups at Ambrose.
  • Work alongside the Chaplain in leading and mobilizing students to participate in Deeper Life Day.
  • Maintain close contact with other spiritual life leaders on campus (e.g. Spiritual ARA’s, Chapel Worship Leaders).
  • To assist in the planning of Deeper Life Day with the Campus Chaplain.

Reports to: ASC President, VP Internal

Job Standards and Requirements
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.50.
  • Any previous experience serving in ministry will be considered an asset.
