Online Students

Library staff is available during all hours of operation and will be happy to help students with their questions. For more in-depth research questions it is best to contact the library between 8:30am and 4:00pm weekdays, when a professional librarian will be onsite.

Once the registration procedures are complete, students should contact the library in order to register and set up their library account. (The library’s software is independent of that in the Office of the Registrar.) In order to do this you can either come in person, or contact the library via email (library@ambrose.edu) or phone (403.410.2946). In either case you will need your Student ID number, your Ambrose student email address plus complete contact information.

The Ambrose Library website will be your access point for library hours, general library information and database access as well as your link to the Catalogue Search page, which also includes a link to your library account (click My Account on the gold horizontal bar). You do not need passwords to access the catalogue search page, but will need your Student ID plus PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number) to access your student account and your Student ID plus PIN (your postal code) to access the databases.

For students who live outside the Calgary catchment area we can mail research materials via Canada Post. This service will include a limit of 5/10 books at a time and will NOT include any textbooks or reserve titles.

Library Information

The Ambrose Library serves the students, faculty and staff of Ambrose University College and Ambrose Seminary. It is one of the largest private academic libraries in western Canada. Its rapidly growing collection features more than 125,000 bound volumes and 185 magazine and journal titles. Particular strengths include Christian studies, history, music, behavioural science, business, English, and Islamics. For more information on the library’s collections, as well as annual reports, see below.

The library also seeks to serve the local congregations of the Church of the Nazarene in Canada and Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada (CMAC), as well as the broader Calgary community.

The Ambrose Archives, which is administered by the library, serves as the official repository for the institutional records of Ambrose University College, Ambrose Seminary, and the CMAC.
