Reappointment of Dr Pam Nordstrom
I am excited to announce that Dr. Pam Nordstrom has been reappointed for a third four-year term as Provost and Sr. Vice President of Academics at Ambrose University. Dr. Nordstrom has served Ambrose with distinction since 2017. She is a highly effective leader and extremely skilled administrator, and I am delighted to work with Pam in this next exciting season of Ambrose.

Ambrose University Alum Paul Harvey to Pitch Mobile Escape on Dragon’s Den
Ambrose University alum Paul Harvey, a 2014 Business Administration graduate, is set to pitch his company, Mobile Escape, on Dragons' Den, airing on November 7, 2024. Alongside his co-founder and brother-in-law, Eric, Harvey brings a unique spin to the escape room industry, making it mobile and accessible, especially for children who struggle in traditional learning environments—a group Harvey identifies with personally.

Ambrose University proudly celebrated a historic moment on October 31, 2024 with the official installation of Rev. Dr. Bryce Ashlin-Mayo as its fifth President. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and past presidents, creating a vibrant display of unity and shared excitement for the future of the institution. The ceremony was a reminder of the institution’s enduring values and its vision for the years to come.

Ambrose Faculty Study Exposes Seafood Mislabeling in Calgary
Dr. Matthew Morris, Associate Professor of Biology, has recently published research in the journal PeerJ Life and Environment addressing the issue of seafood mislabeling in Calgary, Alberta. As the lead author, Dr. Morris collaborated with Ambrose University alumna Morgan Kwan and researchers from the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University. The study, conducted between 2014 and 2020, analyzed 109 invertebrate and 347 finfish products, revealing that approximately one in five seafood items is mislabeled, with mislabeling rates of 20.2% for invertebrates and 21.3% for finfish.
