Exam Accommodation Request

  1. Exam Accommodations can only be requested by students who have an active registration with the Accessibility & Student Support Office.
  2. Accommodations can be requested by submitting a Test Room Booking in Accommodate for each exam that a student want to use their previously approved accommodations on.

Test Room Booking Request

A test Room Booking request (TRB) must be submitted in Accommodate for both Online and In-Person exams.

You must submit your booking no later than the start time of your class, at least 7 days before the date the class is writing the exam, or we will not be able to accommodate your request. For example, if your test is scheduled on Tuesday at 9:45am, your TRB must be submitted no later than 9:45am the previous Tuesday.

If your exam is on:

You must submit an TRB by the start time of your class the previous:

It is encouraged to submit a TRB request as soon as you know the date and time of an exam. Final exam accommodation requests may need to be submitted earlier than 7 days before your final exam.

After submitting a TRB, students will receive an exam reminder approximately 24 hours in advance of the exam. At any time students can log into Accommodate to review their TRB request

Rescheduling an Exam

Written permission (email is appropriate) is required from your professor if you need to take an exam at a different time than the rest of the class.

Appropriate reasons for making a request:

  • Extra time needed conflicts with another exam.
  • Previous approval for no two exams on the same day.
  • Medically documented reason exam cannot be taken at scheduled time

24-hour rule

An exam will be rescheduled if no exam is received from your professor 24 hours before you are scheduled to take the exam. We recommend that you remind your professors to submit exams to Accessibility Services for processing.

If rescheduling is required, a new date will be set by the professor in coordination with Accessibility Services’ availability to accommodate.

With less than 24 hours’ notice, an exam cannot be moved to a different date and time under any circumstance.

This 24-hour rule is in place to ensure that Accessibility Services has enough time to book a room, hire a proctor, convert the exam into the student’s accommodated format, and prepare the student’s accommodated technology.

If you have any questions or concerns about exams, please contact the Accessibility & Student Support Coordinator.
