Undergraduate Financial Aid

Because we’re passionate about faith-inspired learning, we want to make an Ambrose education as affordable as possible for you. With the help of our community and partners, we offer a number of scholarships to both new and continuing students-it’s our way of investing in your education.

Take a look through the scholarships to see if you might be eligible for any of them.

Automatic Academic Scholarship Criteria - Undergraduate Students
  • Minimum 75% (3.0 CGPA) on Ambrose admission requirements
  • Available to transfer and high school students
  • Automatic with admission by the deadline (no application required)

High School Average

  • 75%-79% - $500
  • 80%-84% - $750
  • 85%-89% - $1,000
  • 90%-94% - $1,500
  • 95%-100% - $2,000

August 1 - Fall Start

Average on 15 credits or more from another institution.

  • 3.0 - 3.2 CGPA - $500

  • 3.8 - 4.0 CGPA - $2,000

  • Students entering Bachelor of Education After Degree program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • No application required - automatically considered based on admission
  • Scholarships only available for early admission

  • 3.3 - 3.5 CGPA - $1,000

Athletics Scholarship
  • Meet Ambrose admissions requirements and make the team
  • Athletic Scholarships are based on athletic performance and making the varsity team, as determined by the coach. Reach out to a basketball, volleyball, soccer, futsal coach at Get Recruited. We’ll arrange for you to either come join the team for a practice, demonstrate your ability at an ID Camp, or send us some video footage.

Camp Chamisall Matching Grant Application

Undergraduate students attending Ambrose University who receive financial support from Camp Chamisall can have that support matched by Ambrose up to $1,000/academic year. This grant is only available for the fall and winter semesters.

Continuing Student Scholarships
  • Scholarship recipients will be announced in early April
  • Any current student, including Internship and onSite students*, who will be continuing studies at Ambrose in the upcoming fall full time (9 credits) or 6 credits for students with disability
  • Minimum 2.0 CGPA as of last semester
  • Students must be currently enroled full time (9 credits) in a program**
  • Applications accepted from January 25 to February 28

*Internship, thesis program, and onSite students leaving for the fall are considered full time students

**Students who have been approved to study at a 40%-course load as a full-time equivalent based on a disability will be considered for full-time awards. (See schedule 4: Federal/Provincial Grant for Post-secondary student with Disabilities)

Alberta-NWT Command, The Royal Canadian Legion - Bursary

The award of bursaries is based on financial need and includes any person who is serving or has honourably served in the Canadian armed Forces, the Commonwealth or its wartime allies or as a regular member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or as a Peace Officer in a special duty area or on a special duty operation, or who has served in the Merchant Navy or Ferry Command during wartime, and their dependents. This also includes children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are in need of financial assistance.

Must show proof of connection to the veteran using document such as discharge papers, record of service, birth certificates and marriage certificates, or proof of connection to a AB-NWT Command Legion member.

The money you put towards your education is an investment in yourself and your future. Because your time at Ambrose Seminary will equip you to make a difference in your world, we think it’s the best investment you can make.

We’ve put together information and tools to help you determine the likely cost of this investment as well as the many sources you can turn to in order to get support.

General Entrance: Academic and Leadership

Available to new students enroled in a degree program at Ambrose Seminary

  • Must have earned a minimum 3.0 interim overall GPA during undergraduate degree
  • Must be enroled in at least 6 credits in subsequent Fall and Winter semesters at Ambrose Seminary

Church Partner Program Scholarship… for Part-Timers!
  • Ambrose will match a church donation up to a maximum of $100 per 3-credit course for a student’s education
  • Ambrose will match up to $600/academic year of church support
  • Student must be admitted to a seminary program
  • Must have a 2.0 CGPA
  • Student is enroled for a maximum of 2 courses each semester
  • Eligible for 3-credit courses only

Finish Free Scholarship

Available to students who have completed 60 credits at Ambrose Seminary and have 30 Master of Divinity credits remaining.

  • Must have a 3.0 CGPA
  • Must complete the final 30 credits within 3 academic years
  • Must declare enrolment in the Master of Divinity prior to the first day of third year classes (prior to 60 credits) in order to be eligible
  • Scholarship covers tuition but not fees

Continuing Student Scholarships

Available to current students who will be continuing studies at Ambrose Seminary in the upcoming semester or graduating in the spring

  • Scholarship recipients will be announced in early April
  • Minimum 2.0 CGPA as of last semester
  • Must be currently enroled in a program
  • Must be taking a class in September
    • Preference will be given to full time students (18 credit hours between September - May)
  • Applications accepted from January 25 to February 28
