Peer Wellness Advising

Body

Need someone to check in to see how you are really doing? Maybe you could use a little help in exploring self-care practices and coping strategies? Members of the Peer Health Outreach team are trained in conducting 15 - 30 minute wellness check-ins with current Ambrose students. The wellness advising sessions are free and confidential. Peer wellness advising is not a substitute for counselling, but are a great resource to help you with determining next steps for working on your mental health.

How it Works

Once you have requested an appointment, you will be matched with a Peer Health Educator (PHE) and sent a self-care inventory. The PHE will work to set up an appointment time with you to go through your inventory and ask you a bit about what's been going on in your life, work on goal setting and coping strategies, and make recommendations for resources you can access on and off campus. Depending on room availability and your comfortability meeting in person, your appointment will likely be over Zoom or a private room on campus.
